I really did enjoy my time on RYLA, and I really did learn a lot, however I actually learned more information about myself, I realised that I can actually do anything if I really put my mind to it.
On the first day I fell and badly hurt my leg, and I was not going home, I really wanted to stay, no matter how painful it was.
Once we got home I went and got my leg xrayed and turns out I had 3 fractured bones.

"The RYLA South Passage voyage was a
physically and mentally challenging experience. Being on the water for 4 days
enabled me to disconnect from old problems and focusing on developing a new
skill (I've never sailed before). Sharing the experience with the other
RYLArians was also immensely valuable. Working with a team of new people and
sharing the experience of learning to sail really tested our true leadership
qualities.
It was a memorable and authentic
experience, which I hope to be able to share with others again."
